The year will also mark the 200th anniversary of the modern railway, with the Railway 200 programme featuring the opening of the New Hall at the Locomotion museum in County Durham and the renovated Station Hall at the National Railway Museum in York.

Additionally, the Greenwich Royal Observatory will celebrate its 350th anniversary, while the Inverness Castle Experience and Leicester’s Jewry Wall Museum will provide immersive journeys into Scotland's and Leicester’s history. The Hull Maritime Museum will also reopen with new exhibits.
